As you may know, I welcomed my son Quinn into the world in September of this school year. I have decided to take the opportunity to be at home with him for a few months. Therefore, my last day with this grade six class will be next Friday April 13.
I have loved teaching this group of students. This is one of the kindest, most co-operative groups of students I have ever taught. I come to school each morning excited about the day's lessons, and leave each afternoon happy that I had the opportunity to teach them. I will miss every single one of the students and hope to come back for a visit or two before they graduate.

Dear Parents,
Report cards are going home this Tuesday afternoon. If you have any questions after reading your child's progress report, please make sure you discuss your concerns with me during our meeting. I sent home a note at the end of last week asking all parents to indicate preferred times to meet with me. All meetings will be about 15 minutes long, during which time I will be happy to answer all of your questions.
Please make sure you are on time, and I look forward to seeing everyone next week!

Dear Parents of Room 305,
Welcome to your child’s grade six year. My name is Dennis Ku and I will be your child’s teacher. Hopefully, the students have been going home and sharing about our days already, but in case they haven’t, here’s a quick summary of what we’ll be doing through October.
We’ve been busy setting up some routines in the classroom. Everyone should be aware the morning bell rings at 8:55 a.m. and all students are expected to be in the classroom ready to learn by 9:00 a.m.
In compliance with TDSB policy, I will not be sending home any homework most nights. Once in a while, students may be given assignments that will be due later that week, but time will also be given in class to finish those tasks. The school day is long and demanding; a lot of learning is happening at school, and time at home with family is very valuable! Of course, everyone is encouraged to read each night for 30 minutes or more.
Student agendas were sent home a few weeks ago. Important announcements or any approaching deadlines will be noted in the agendas. Students are expected to have the agenda at school each day and to take them home each afternoon. Any communication between students and teachers should be done in the agendas.
If at any time you have questions or concerns, please make an appointment with me in the agenda and I will be happy to meet with you. Don’t wait until official interview time! Any issues should be addressed at soon as possible.
Finally, my tip to all parents is to encourage your child to talk about their day. Your involvement is critical to their success. Promoting dialogue about learning is a great way to see whether or not your child understands what was just taught.
